Leicester City Name The One Player Who Impressed Despite Loss To Southampton
Published: January 13, 2019
Leicester City website, in its assessment of their defeat to Southampton in the Premier League yesterday, hailed the impact of Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi despite the hosts losing 2-1.
After James Ward-Prowse and Shane Long struck in the opening 45 minutes for the Saints at the King Power, Ndidi popped up in the right place to halve the deficit, scoring his second goal of the season in the process.
Ndidi has started all but one game for Claude Puel's men in the division this term, logging a total of 1,948 minutes.

"In the right place at the right time to convert Ricardo Pereira's pass and halve Southampton's advantage just before the hour mark, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi gave Leicester hope of a comeback", it wrote.
"This season, he has completed the most successful passes for City, making 885 in total, while he also made the most tackles of any Leicester player, completing 51 dispossessions – emphasising his importance in midfield", it wrote.
Barring injury or any last-ditch situation, Ndidi is set to represent the Super Eagles in their bid to win this year's African Cup of Nations.
