Published: January 14, 2019
If majority of Barcelona fans had their way, they would prefer the club to sign a new striker in the January transfer window to act as cover for their number nine Luis Suárez and also to make up for the departure of Munir El Haddadi to Sevilla.
Manager Ernesto Valverde is looking to bring in a new striker to the Camp Nou and the likes of Alvaro Morata, Fernando Llorente, Krzysztof Piatek, Timo Werner, Odion Ighalo and Maxi Gomez have been linked with the club.
According to a Marca poll in which 120,000 fans participated, 33 percent of Barcelona fans want the club to sign Morata while 17 percent voted for Tottenham Hotspur star Llorente.
The highest figure, 36 percent want another striker to be signed, while 14 percent don't want the club to sign a striker this month.
Ighalo was directly involved in 19 goals (13 goals, 6 assists) from 73 appearances in the Spanish topflight during his time at Granada.
Barcelona have done transfer business with a Chinese club in the past, their capture of Brazil international Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande in August 2017.
