Arsenal's New Kid On The Block Saka Names The Three Players Helping Him Develop Most
Published: January 15, 2019
Hale End Academy product Bukayo Saka has credited three Arsenal stars for assisting him develop most at Arsenal.
The London-born Nigerian talent is having a whirlwind season, having made his debut for the Gunners in the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup in the space of less than six weeks.
The left winger enhanced his burgeoning reputation after his excellent display against Manchester City in the Premier League 2 on Monday by scoring a brace.
Asked which first-team players are helping him develop most, Saka told arsenal.com : ''When we do finishing drills with Lacazette, Aubameyang and Iwobi you can just see the finishing and the quality that they have.
''I just want to be like them so every time I’m there I just try to learn from the best, especially in my position because I can take a lot from them. ''
Saka highlighted his delight that two Arsenal U23 stars, including right winger Xavier Amaechi, have recently returned from an injury layoff.
''It gives us a lot of confidence that we’ve got top quality players coming back into the squad. It gives us a massive boost, especially as they’re two attacking players (Robbie Burton and Xavier Amaechi).
''It gives use a lot more creativity up top so we can go and score more goals,'' the Arsenal number 87 added.
Saka is the first player born in the year 2001 to feature in the English Premier League, a record he set in the 4-1 win vs Fulham on New Year's Day when he replaced Alex Iwobi on 83 minutes.
