Sunderland have told interested clubs that they will have to pay at least four million pounds to land Nigerian striker Josh Maja in the January transfer window.
According to The Sun, Cardiff City are preparing a £2million bid for the former Super Eagles invitee which falls below the Black Cats valuation of the attacker.
Maja is on the radar of several clubs thanks to his blistering form in the League One and on top of that, he comes off contract at the end of the season and has yet to pen a new deal.
The 20-year-old has played a part in 17 goals from 24 appearances in the English third-tier, scoring fifteen and providing two more and only Doncaster's John Marquis has scored more goals than him.
Celtic, Rangers, Crystal Palace, Stuttgart, Cologne and Wolfsburg are among the clubs monitoring the situation of Maja.
He turned out for the youth teams of Fulham, Crystal Palace and Manchester City before joining Sunderland in 2015.
