Bordeaux number ten Samuel Kalu has been recognized for his imperious displays for his French club after he was ranked the most in-form Nigerian player in Europe's top five leagues (Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1) for the month of January 2019 by CIES Football Observatory
Kalu was the top Nigerian player on the list with a ranking of 81.0 and finished in 150th position out of 836 players.
Last month, the former Gent star was on target against SCO Angers and provided an assist in the win vs Dijon.
In number two position is Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo, who started and went the distance in all the four matches contested by CD Leganes and helped goalkeeper Iván Cuéllar to keep a clean-sheet in a 1-0 win vs SD Huesca.
Nigeria's second most outstanding player last month was awarded a rating of 78.3 and was 202nd on the list.
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi (542nd, 69.5), Torino wing back Ola Aina (549th, 69.3) and Udinese central defender William Troost-Ekong (662nd, 66.0) complete the top five Nigerian players.
The three defensive-minded players were in action for the entire duration of all the matches played by their respective clubs last month.
Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi (779th, 61.7) has slipped to sixth in the ranking of Nigerian stars in Europe.
