Super Eagles Star Named In Russian Premier League Team Of The Month
Published: May 01, 2019Nigeria international Sylvester Igboun has been recognized for his outstanding performances last month in Russia after making Whoscored.com's Russian Premier League Team of the Month for April 2019.
The FC Ufa star was handed a spot on the left side of midfield in the football statistics website's favoured 4-4-2 formation, though he was utilized as a striker in three of the four matches he was involved in last month.
Igboun started and completed games against Rostov, Arsenal Tula, Rubin Kazan and Ural in April, scoring four goals including a brace in his last match vs Ural.
The 28-year-old was the joint highest rated midfielder with a rating of eight and only Zenit St. Petersburg's Artem Dzyuba with an average rating of 8.3 scored higher.
The FC Midtjylland product had earlier been named in the Russian Premeir League Team of the Week for game week 26.
Igboun has not been invited to the Nigeria National Team since the appointment of Gernot Rohr as coach.
