Former Germany U16 Skipper Yet To Show Up At Nigeria U20 Training Camp
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that there is uncertainty surrounding the availability of former Germany U16 skipper Chinedu Ekene for the Nigeria U20s ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II striker has not been spotted in the Flying Eagles get-together in Ingolstadt since the start of the training camp despite being based in Germany.

Born in Wuppertal to a German mom and Nigerian father, Ekene has racked up eleven appearances in total for Germany's youth teams, including the U16 squad, whom he captained in a friendly against Czech Republic in November 2014.

The 19-year-old is eligible to represent Nigeria without applying to FIFA for a change of association as all his appearances for Germany's youth teams were in friendly matches.

Chinedu's younger brother, Achunike Ekene, has also turned for Germany's U16s and the defender is currently on the books of Bayer Leverkusen.

The striker has scored 3 goals in 20 Regionalliga games so far this season.
