Manchester City And Chelsea Battling For Millwall's Nigerian Winger
Published: May 03, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea are among the teams hoping to secure the signature of Millwall's Nigerian wonderkid Samuel Edozie.
Edozie has been identified as one of the top talents at Millwall's Academy and has played for their U18 team this season despite being eligible for the U16s.
Man City and Chelsea have both held negotiations with Millwall about the possibility of landing the winger in the summer.
Millwall have given Edozie an early scholarship knowing full well that clubs will be interested in his services, which means they have to pay more to sign him.
Manchester City signed two players of Nigerian descent, Gavin Bazunu and Timi Sobowale, from Irish clubs this season, while Faustino Anjorin, Jordan Aina, Tariq Uwakwe and Adrian Akande play for Chelsea youth teams.
The City and Chelsea Academies are among the best in England, and their youth teams reached the final of the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League respectively this term.
