The Three Flying Eagles Stars Red Bull Salzburg, Rapid Vienna Could Have Been Scouting In Nigeria's Loss To Saudi Arabia
Published: May 06, 2019
There were a number of European clubs and several agents in attendance during the Flying Eagles 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia in an international friendly on Sunday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
All the goals came in a 22-minute spell in the second half, with Al Qadisiyah FC striker Khalid Al-Ghannam and Hamed Alghamdi scoring for the Asians and IK Sirius Fotboll midfielder Henry Offia netting his maiden international goal for Nigeria.
It is confirmed that scouts representing Austrian Bundesliga clubs Red Bull Salzburg and SK Rapid Vienna watched yesterday's game at the Sportschule Lindabrunn.
Though agents were falling over themselves to get the attention of the Saudi Arabian players, it is known that they hardly agree to move abroad, meaning it is very likely the Austrian clubs were after the outstanding Nigerian players.
The three Flying Eagles players that impressed in Sunday's game are Enyimba defender Valentine Ozornwafor, Michael Maxwell Effiom and goalscorer Henry Offia, and the scouts in attendance may have jotted down a thing or two about these players.
Having said that, Red Bull Salzburg might have been doing opposition scouting as they are expected to face the Flying Eagles in a friendly before their trip to Poland.
Rapid Vienna sent one of their directors and two scouts to run the rule over the Flying Eagles players.
