The 41-Goal Crystal Palace Striker Who Can Solve Nigeria U17 Goalscoring Problems
Published: May 06, 2019
Goals were hard to come by for the Golden Eaglets in their last four matches at the recently concluded U17 Africa Cup of Nations, with the Manu Garba-led side finding the net only three times.
If the five-time world champions are to perform well at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil, the Golden Eaglets scouting team have to start scouring Nigeria and Europe for a proven goalscorer.
Manu Garba's teams are known for scoring goals but their top scorer in Tanzania, Wisdom Ubani only managed three goals over the course of the tournament.
Prolific Crystal Palace youth-team striker David Omilabu has to be in the thoughts of the Golden Eaglets technical crew before the resumption of camping.
Omilabu ended the 2018-2019 season with an impressive 41 goals from 26 games for the youth teams of the Eagles and provided 23 assists.
He has been described as a nippy striker, good finisher, who gets to the ball well and runs with it well by Crystal Palace youth-team expert PalaceYouth.
Despite being an U16 player, Omilabu has made appearances for Palace's U18 team and will be a first-year scholar next season.
