Man City's Dele-Bashiru & 'Improved' Bournemouth Midfielder Named In Nigeria U20 21-Man Squad
Published: May 13, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Manchester City midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru and Bournemouth starlet Nnamdi Ofoborh have been included in Nigeria's 21-man squad list for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland.
Flying Eagles coaches had no choice but to name Dele-Bashiru on the roster after he impressed the technical crew in training and friendly matches.
A Nigeria U20 staff has contacted the embassy in Germany to extend the visa of the 19-year-old as he flew to the training camp in Bad Gögging with a Nigerian passport and a single-entry visa to Germany which is about to expire.
Ofoborh has managed to force his way into the 21-man squad despite training with the team for few days before returning to England due to club commitments.
If Paul Aigbogun had considered his past record with the Flying Eagles, the manager would not have invited the midfielder to the training camp in Germany in the first place as he was poor on his debut against Egypt back in March 2018 and had to be substituted at the end of the first half.
Aigbogun was not convinced about Ofoborh and gave him only three days to prove himself at the training camp or get the boot, and was pleasantly surprised that the midfielder had taken his game to another level.
The Flying Eagles coaches have sent the 21-man World Cup list to the Nigeria Football Federation and it will be released to the public very soon.
