Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Bordeaux coach Paulo Sousa has confirmed that his number ten, Samuel Kalu is fit to return to action when his team welcome Reims to the Stade Matmut-Atlantique on Saturday evening and has strongly hinted that the winger stands a chance of making the starting line-up.
The news from Sousa will be sweet music to the ears of Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr and Super Eagles fans as Kalu has been named in the country's provisional roster for the Africa Cup of Nations squad despite concerns over his fitness.
In the last four months, the former Gent star has logged only 216 minutes in the Ligue 1 due to a hamstring injury he had been dealing with.
''Yes, he (Kalu) can be that X Factor, that player who can bring us something. When I talk about power, fight, intention to score, he's a player who will give us that,'' Sousa told reporters.
''I hope that during the next season, there will be other players who can bring it on this moment of play.

Bordeaux have won only once in their last eight matches in the French top-flight, without Kalu making the match day eighteen.
