Lazio Plotting Move For Liverpool-Owned Striker Awoniyi; Ejaria, Ojo Attracting Interest
Published: May 17, 2019
Italian Serie A club Lazio are hoping to sign Taiwo Awoniyi in the summer transfer window.
The Biancocelesti are on the brink of announcing the capture of another Nigerian-born player in Bobby Adekanye and they also want to bring Awoniyi to the club in the coming weeks, the Mirror UK has claimed.
Liverpool have made it clear that interested clubs would have to cough up ten million pounds to sign the Nigeria U23 international this summer.
The 21-year-old Awoniyi has scored 12 goals and registered three assists across all competitions this season for KAA Gent and Royal Excel Mouscron.
Since 2015 he has been on the books of The Reds but has been loaned out to FSV Frankfurt, NEC, Royal Excel Mouscron and Gent due to work permit issues which prevented him from playing in England.
Liverpool want to raise £100m from sales of nine players and they have received interest in Ovie Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo.
The England U20 World Cup-winning duo did not play for the first team this season; Ejaria was at Rangers and Reading on loan and Ojo in France with Reims.
