Aston Villa To Run The Rule Over Arsenal-Linked Midfielder Aribo
Published: May 22, 2019Premier League promotion hopefuls Aston Villa have joined the race to sign Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo this summer.
According to Football League World, Aston Villa are weighing up a move for Aribo and will run the rule over the Charlton Athletic star when they tackle Sunderland in the League One playoff final on May 26.
The 22-year-old has racked up 96 appearances for Charlton since his debut and Sunday's game could be his last for the London club as he comes off contract at the end of the season.
Villa are thought to be in the market for a midfielder as replacement for Jack Grealish, who could depart the club if they lose to Derby County in the Championship playoff final.
Celtic, Rangers, Manchester City, Arsenal, Bournemouth and Southampton have all been linked with a move for Aribo, while Rennes and Eintracht Frankfurt are the non-British clubs credited with an interest.
He has scored ten goals and provided five assists this season.
