Liverpool Target Chukwueze Could Become The Most Expensive Player Of Nigerian Descent In History

Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze could break the transfer record for a player of Nigerian descent before the close of the summer transfer window, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Nigeria international is reportedly on the radar of European champions Liverpool and several teams in La Liga.
The clubs interested in signing Chukwueze must trigger his release clause of €63 million before the deal can go through as Villarreal are not ready to lower the transfer fee.
If he leaves for that fee, the winger would become the most expensive player of Nigerian descent in history, breaking the transfer record set by Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor, who joined Manchester City from Arsenal for a transfer fee of €29 million in July 2009.
The 20-year-old could also become the most expensive player to have been transferred from Villarreal, surpassing the €40 million Manchester United paid the Yellow Submarine for Eric Bailly in 2016.
Kelechi Iheanacho remains the most valuable Nigerian player after Leicester City bought him for €27.8m, followed by Odion Ighalo (€23m).
