History Chaser Oshoala Confident Super Falcons Can Hold Their Own Against World Class France Team
Published: June 17, 2019
Nigeria will take on hosts France in their final group game at Roazhon Park, Rennes on Monday starting from 2000 hours, with the African champions battling for a last sixteen spot at the Women's World Cup.
Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala was in the Barcelona team that lost 4-1 to Lyon in the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League last month, a French side that contained Les Bleues stars Amandine Henry, Eugénie Le Sommer, Amel Majri, Wendie Renard and Delphine Cascarino.
The number 8 believes the Falcons can hold their own against France because they also have quality players.
''They have a very good team, world class players like Le Sommer, Gauvin, Renard, same as my team as well,'' said Oshoala in an interview with fifa.com.
''We have good players that play in top leagues in Europe as well, top players that play in the Champions League.
''I feel it's still the same, no much difference. We just have to be technically better against them and stay concentrated in the game''.

Should she find the net tonight, Oshoala will become the joint-highest scoring Nigerian player in Women's World Cup history, equaling the record of Rita Nwadike and Nkiru Okosieme which was set 20 years ago.
