'I'll Take Ownership For This One' - Iwobi Reveals Okocha Did Not Inspire His Nutmeg Skill
Published: June 18, 2019
Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi has revealed that ex-Nigeria captain Austin Okocha did not inspire his nutmeg skills and has stressed that he nutmegs opponents instinctively contrary to popular belief that he wants to showboat.
As at January 4, 2019, the Hale End Academy product was the top nutmegger in the English Premier League with five completed and has been labelled the 'King Of The Nutmegs'.
''I'll like to take ownership for this one. Okocha my uncle has got the skills but nutmeg, I'll say this is my own ownership,'' said Iwobi to Super Eagles Media team.
''It is something that just comes along, I don't go into games thinking I am going to nutmeg someone, it just happens instinctively, sometimes the easiest way for me to get past an opponent.
''I have been given the title, I can't let my people down.''
