Coach Gernot Rohr has stated that fans expect the Super Eagles to win their fourth Africa Cup of Nations title in Egypt.
Nigeria are making their return to the Africa Cup of Nations having failed to qualify for the previous two editions held in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
Rohr has taken a young squad to this summer's tournament, naming eleven players under the age of 24 on the roster, while captain Obi Mikel, Kenneth Omeruo and Ahmed Musa are the more experienced players.
"Nigeria have a mix of experience and young players who have the will and determination to achieve the goals of the technical staff and the aspirations of the Nigerian public,'' Rohr said in a press statement published by filgoal.com.
''Everyone in Nigeria is waiting for the good performance of their team and they are waiting for the trophy. "
