'He Trains At 200%, I think He Is Physically Ready' - Guinea Coach Hints Liverpool Star May Start Vs Nigeria
Published: June 26, 2019
Guinea national team coach Paul Put has hinted that Liverpool star
Naby Kaita may return to the starting line-up when they take on Nigeria
in the second group match of the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday
afternoon.
The Conakry native played the last
30 minutes vs Madagascar, his first game since he suffered an injury in
the semifinal of the Champions League on May 1, and made an immediate
impact as Guinea restored parity four minutes after his introduction.
''You
know he had an injury. It was not obvious he participated in the AFCON .
We did everything to prepare Naby well,'' Paul Put told reporters at
Tuesday's press conference.
''He trains at 200%. I think he is physically ready. If he is mentally ready, I think he will start the game.
''Because
there is a Syli with Naby Keita and a Syli without him, that we saw
during the preparation when Guinea lost all three games without him.''
Nigeria
will qualify for the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations if they earn
their second win in Group B against the Syli Stars.
