'I Feel Like I Have Improved' - Versatile Defender Aina Rates Himself After Starring Vs Guinea
Published: June 26, 2019
Chelsea Academy product Ola Aina narrowly missed out on selection for the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 World Cup but has found his way into the starting line-up at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The versatile fullback has admitted that moving to Torino last season improved his game and stressed that he is comfortable playing on the right and left side of defence even though he is a right-footed player.
Aina was impressive for the second game in a row as the Super Eagles beat Guinea 1-0 to advance to the round of 16 of the AFCON.
Speaking immediately after today's game at the Alexandria Stadium, Aina told reporters in the mixed zone : ''Left side, right side for me it is still the same. I feel comfortable on the left just as I feel on the right.
''Of course, last season going to Italy has helped me and I thoroughly enjoyed it so I feel like I have improved.
''There is still more to improve on because I don't feel I am the finished product yet but I am enjoying my football right now and I am enjoying this team.''

A former England U19 skipper, Aina became cap-tied to Nigeria when he made his competitive debut against Zambia in a World Cup qualifier back in October 2017.
