Moses Simon On Being Part Of Super Eagles, La Liga, Levante Hero Obafemi Martins
Published: July 08, 2019
Moses Simon spoke to the Super Eagles Media team just before the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 match against Cameroon and was asked questions about the Super Eagles and Spanish La Liga.
The diminutive winger was set to be named in the Nigeria squad for the 2018 World Cup, only to be replaced by Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo after suffering an injury.
At the ongoing AFCON, Simon has started two of the last three matches played by the Super Eagles and provided the assist for Kenneth Omeruo's winning goal against Guinea.
''I feel happy to be part of the Super Eagles players and especially happy for the team,'' Simon said.
The Golden Boot Soccer Academy product joined Levante from KAA Gent in the summer of 2018.
''Spanish La Liga is one of the best leagues in the world, I am happy to be there and they have good players. To be in Spanish La Liga you have to be technically good,'' he added.
Simon spoke highly of former Levante striker Obafemi Martins, saying he is regarded as a legend by the Granotas fans.
''He is one of their legends there, the first day I arrived there they told me a Nigerian played here and I didn't know until they mentioned Obagoal.
''They even told me about the house he lived, he's a true legend there.''
