Victor Moses Wishes Super Eagles Good Luck Ahead Of AFCON Semifinal Vs Algeria
Published: July 14, 2019
Chelsea loanee Victor Moses has sent a good luck message to the Super Eagles ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal showdown against Algeria at the Cairo International Stadium, starting from 2000 hours.
The right winger decided to call time on his international career after the 2018 World Cup in order to be
able to focus fully on his club career and his young family as well
as to allow the next generation of Super Eagle stars the opportunity to
step up and to flourish.
Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick and manager Gernot Rohr attempted to convince the 28-year-old to reconsider his decision to quit the national team ahead of the 2019 AFCON but were unsuccessful.
Moses was part of the Super Eagles team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and was one of the standout players for Nigeria, scoring two goals and providing two assists, and was named in the Team of the Tournament by CAF.
Writing on social media, Moses stated : ''Good luck to Nigeria today in the semifinals! Come on boys!!! #SuperEagles''.
The winner of the Algeria vs Nigeria clash will face Senegal in the final on July 19.
