Confirmed : Dead-ball Specialist Inks New Deal With Liverpool
Published: July 22, 2019Liverpool have confirmed through their official website that talented youngster Leighton Clarkson has inked a new deal with the club.
The creative midfielder has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the UEFA Champions League winners.
Aged 17, Clarkson was an influential member of the Liverpool side that won the FA Youth Cup last season, starting all the six matches including the final against Manchester City.
Born in Lancashire, he joined Liverpool at U8 level and rose through the ranks before making his debut for the U18 team in the 2017-2018 season.
He has been described as a dead-ball specialist and has an impressive range of passing.
Clarkson had a hand in ten goals (4 goals, 6 assists) for Liverpool in the U18 Premier League last season and also featured in the prestigious UEFA Youth League.
