Watford's Dele-Bashiru Reveals Pep Guardiola Taught Him A Lot Of Things
Published: August 29, 2019
Former Flying Eagles midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru who was in Nigeria's squad to the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland has expressed his profound gratitude for the welcoming atmosphere at his new club Watford following his move from Manchester City.
The midfielder reportedly turned down the chance to extend his contract at City and it is apparent that the youngster is loving his new base which he describes as "family".
Dele-Bashiru spoke on his time at Manchester City and what he learned from Pep Guardiola, who gave him his senior debut in 2017.
"He was a good mentor, I owe a lot to him and he taught me a lot of things,'' Dele-Bashiru told the official website of Watford.

''At the end of the day I felt like this was the best step for my professional career and I'm happy I made the decision to move. It was the desire to play first team football, I think that's the next step in my career.
"There is a pathway for young players [at Watford]. If you show that you're good enough, I think the manager will show faith.
"Of course, I'd like to break through in the Premier League, but I'll just take each step as it comes. I'm happy to make my debut in the cup and hopefully I can carry on improving and maybe help eventually in the Premier League as well."
Dele Bashiru also hinted that Watford head coach Javi Garcia is helping him to improve on the defensive side of his game
