Mansfield Town have secured the services of West Ham striker of Nigerian descent, Dapo Afolayan, informs the official website of the League Two club.
The highly-rated frontman will spend half of the 2019-2020 season on loan at The Stags.
A product of the Chelsea Academy, Afolayan counts Toronto Varsity Blues, Loughborough University and Tooting & Mitcham United as his previous clubs and was loaned out by the Hammers to Oldham Athletic for a portion of the 2018-2019 season.
Speaking on the arrival of the Nigerian, manager John Dempster said : ''He’s somebody who will bring something different to the team.
''We’ve done a lot research on him. He’s a good character, somebody who wants to play football and score goals.
''When the opportunity came up to take him on loan we were in competition with other clubs, so we’re really pleased to have him on board.''
