Published: August 30, 2019
Four players of Nigerian descent have been named in the latest England U19 squad list announced by the English Football Association on Friday afternoon.
While Chelsea midfielder Faustino Anjorin, Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun and West Ham defender Ajibola Alese have received maiden call-ups to the England U19s, winger Bukayo Saka was part of the squad last season.
The quartet will be looking to add to their international appearances for the Young Lions over the international break next month.
Paul Simpson's team will host Greece at St. George’s Park on Thursday 5 September and only invited guests are permitted to watch the game, before facing Germany at Sibre-Sportzentrum Haarwasen, Haiger on Monday, September 9.
Manchester City's Nathaniel Ogbeta and the injured Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo have not been selected in the 23-man group.
Of the aforementioned players, only Bukayo Saka has made his debut in the English Premier League.
Anjorin and Balogun have scored three goals each for their respective clubs in the new season.
