Chelsea Midfielder Anjorin Or Arsenal Winger Saka: Who Should Be Courted By NFF?
Published: September 21, 2019The Nigeria Football Federation have recorded a laudable level of success in their mission to see that foreign-born Nigerians play for the country.
Leon Balogun, Troost-Ekong, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina, Josh Maja, Joe Aribo and Tom Dele-Bashiru have all committed their international futures to the West African side, and the country's football governing body are very keen on seeing more foreign-born players in the team.
Though Chelsea duo Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham are currently targeted by NFF president Amaju Pinnick, Bukayo Saka's impressive display against Frankfurt during Thursday's Europa League opener could be enough to add the youngster into the list of most wanted players.
Meanwhile, another England U19 international Faustino Anjorin is equally doing well with Chelsea U23s and NFF should start monitoring his development.
The question is who should be courted first between Saka and Anjorin.
Both players are in great form and they possess all it takes to add more threat to the Nigeria U23s attacking line in the nearest future, however, Saka has played first-team football while Anjorin has ye to make his senior debut.
The 18-year-old started his second game for the Gunners first team on Thursday unlike Anjorin who is yet to make Chelsea's match-day squad.
Having seen him score one and assisted two goals, the English FA will now do everything to keep him.
Hence, Nigeria must start making moves for his services as soon as possible while Anjorin continues to progress with Chelsea U23.
