The Two Golden Eaglets Stars Ajax Amsterdam Watched Against Netherlands
Published: November 06, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam posted at least one of their scouts to watch the U17 World Cup round of 16 clash between Nigeria and Netherlands on Wednesday morning.
The Dutch champions have sent three of their talent spotters to Brazil to run the rule over some of the outstanding young talents in the world.
Sidos Academy poster boy Akinkunmi Amoo and Collins Edwin SC central midfielder Samson Tijani are confirmed to be on the scouting list of Ajax Amsterdam and were monitored at close quarters at the Estádio Olímpico, Goiânia.
The 1995 Champions League winners usually scout players they can develop into potential first team players, so players who are good individually with their passes and runs are often on their radar.
Of the four matches played by the Golden Eaglets in Brazil, Amoo and Tijani were arguably the two best players in the Nigeria team and the latter won the Man of the Match award in the opener against Hungary after scoring two goals.
Amoo was involved in most of the attacking moves against the Netherlands and provided an assist in each of his last three games at the U17 World Cup.
