Galatasaray Hoping To Seal Deal For Former Everton Striker Henry
Published: November 18, 2019Turkish champions Galatasaray are hoping to seal a deal for Monaco striker Henry Onyekuru in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Sporx claims that the Principality club have given the green light for the Nigeria international to head to Galatasaray when the transfer window reopens.
Monaco have demanded a 2.5 million euros loan fee from Galatasaray for the deal to go through and Onyekuru is expected to join the Istanbul giants on loan for 18 months.
The former Everton striker has struggled for game time since transferring to the Ligue 1 side, with only two starts from a possible 13 across all competitions.
As a result of a lack of playing opportunities, Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr omitted Onyekuru from the rosters for the friendly against Brazil and the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.
The 22-year-old had a successful loan spell at Galatasaray last season, helping them win the Super Lig and Cup and had a hand in 22 goals (16 goals, 6 assists) in 44 matches.
