Arsenal Sweating On The Fitness Of Saka Ahead Of Southampton Clash
Published: November 21, 2019
Arsenal are sweating over the fitness of Nigeria-eligible young star Bukayo Saka ahead of their Premier League clash against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 23.
Manager Unai Emery revealed at Thursday's pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of the Saints that the winger did not workout with his teammates at London Colney today.
Saka didn't train because of a minor injury he picked up while on international duty with England U19 national team last week.
The Hale End Academy product was involved for the Young Lions against Luxembourg and Macedonia, helping manager Paul Simpson's team record two big wins in the U19 EURO qualifiers by scoring and providing an assist.
Speaking to reporters, Emery said : ''Pepe arrived late because of travel and didn’t train with the group but trained inside. Will be ready for Saturday.
''Holding, Saka, Kolasinac didn’t train. Could train tomorrow.''

The 18-year-old Saka has made the matchday squad for each of Arsenal's last seven matches in the Premier League.
