17 Different Players Have Scored Under Rohr : Former Arsenal Man Is Top Scorer Still Active
Published: November 29, 2019When Victor Osimhen found the net in the 34th minute of Nigeria's 2-2 draw with Ukraine on September 10, 2019, the Lille striker became the seventeenth different player to score for the national team since the appointment of Gernot Rohr as coach of the Super Eagles, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
And this statistics proves that the Super Eagles have not depended on a few players for the goals since September 2016.
Of the seventeen players to get on the scoresheet, three have called time on their international careers, namely Victor Moses, John Obi Mikel and Odion Ighalo.
With 12 goals, the former Watford striker has scored the most number of goals, five of which came against Libya in two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
It is worth pointing out that former Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi is the highest scorer for the Super Eagles still active with seven goals to his name.
Wingers have scored the most goals (6), followed by strikers and defenders (4 each) and midfielders (3).
