Nigeria U17 Captain, Tijani Saga : Father's Int'l Passport Seized; NFF Top Shot Threatens Midfielder; Sister Returns From Oman
Published: December 04, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com can now reveal the identity of the Danish Superliga club that failed in their bid to sign Nigeria U17 captain Samson Tijani.
FC Midtjylland were prepared to pay 600,000 euros for the services of Tijani but the central midfielder's camp turned down the offer with the hope that his transfer fee will skyrocket after the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.
Collins Edwin Sports Club have no control over Tijani and his father, Mr. Bashiru Tijani, is being forced to deal with Dotun Coker, who is the Chairman Technical Committee, Lagos State Football Association.
Anything that must be done regarding transfer business has to pass through Dotun Coker, who is acting as a proxy for a Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation.
After the U17 AFCON, a meeting was set up between Collins Edwin SC, Dotun, the NFF top shot, Samson Tijani and his family and during the meeting the NFF official threatened the midfielder that he would never play for the national teams again if he went against the wishes of Dotun.
Dotun later took Samson Tijani's father to the Nigerian Immigration Service to apply for an international passport and when the traveling document was issued, it was seized by the LSFA official, so that the father cannot travel abroad to discuss with foreign clubs without his knowledge.
Before the Golden Eaglets traveled to Brazil for the World Cup, the owner of Jossy United FC made an offer to Tijani's father too good to refuse.
He rented an apartment for Tijani's father, placed him on N100,000.00 monthly salary and his wife was to receive N50,000.00 monthly, and in return he got an exclusive parental consent.
In addition, the Jossy United owner facilitated the return of Tijani's sister to Nigeria from Oman, where she traveled to to work as a domestic help but had complained that she was regularly being 'abused' by her hosts.
