Top Commentators & Phil Neville Give Mixed Assessments Of Iwobi Performance Vs Liverpool
The future of Everton manager Marco Silva was the key talking point ahead of the Merseyside derby between the Toffees and league leaders Liverpool but match commentators Peter Drury and Jim Beglin dished out a great commentary and their assessments of Super Eagles playmaker Alex Iwobi caught the eye.

Iwobi was in action for 90 minutes in Liverpool's 5-2 win at Anfield and Beglin said the following about the Nigerian.

"He knows he's got time. I'm surprised that he's not gone with his laces and power (to shoot)," Beglin, a former Republic of Ireland international who played as a left back and was a Liverpool player between 1983 and 1989 where he made 98 league appearances and scored two goals said in the 40th minute when he let fly a shot that missed target.

Soon afterwards Beglin said:  "Everybody was feeling let down by Iwobi's disappointing long diagonal pass meant for Dominic Calvin Lewin," albeit his co commentator for NBC Sports Peter Drury did commend a good pass from the Nigerian few seconds later.

In the 85th minute the Nigerian laid a great pass for former Juventus young striker Moise Kean and Jim Beglin could not help but say a nice wood to him.

"The ball from Iwobi was class," said Beglin on the Nigeria international who created about two other goal scoring chances in the match.

Those creative moments was commended  by former Everton midfielder Phil Neville in the post match analysis.

"Good pass from Iwobi," Neville noted as he found central defender Michael Keane who finished brilliantly for the first of Everton's two goals.

The Nigerian also set up another good pass for Calvin Lewin who was slightly pushed by Virgil van Dijk but no penalty was handed to them.

Everton now find themselves back in relegation places placed 18th with 14 points after starting Wednesday's game in 17th place.
