Super Eagles Striker Success; Dele-Bashiru To Work With Former Leicester City Coach Till End of Season
Published: December 07, 2019
Nigeria duo of Isaac Success and Tom Dele-Bashiru will work with a new head coach until the end of the current 2019/2020 season after Watford confirmed the appointment of former Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson on Friday evening.
Watford sacked Quique Sanchez Flores who only employed him for a second spell at the beginning of the season with just 10 matches in charge. The 2-1 defeat to Southampton on Sunday culminated to the sack of the former Granada coach.
Watford's Chairman & CEO Scott Duxbury spoke of Pearson in an interview with the club's website: "Nigel is an impressive coach and comes with all of the experience and success we believe can have a very positive impact on our season.
"It's been a pleasure spending time listening to the passion with which he talks about the game. His enthusiasm, organisation and motivation will I'm certain prove essential in driving the team forwards and upwards over the coming weeks and months."
According to the information provided by the club's website U-23 coach Hayden Mullins will take charge of the Saturday home game against Crystal Palace with Pearson taking charge after the weekend fixture.
Watford are bottom of the Premier League table with 8 points after 15 league matches.
