Former Tottenham Hotspur U16 Captain Scores First Professional Goal For PSV Eindhoven Team
Published: December 21, 2019
Former Tottenham Hotspur U16 captain Noni Madueke netted his first professional goal as Jong PSV Eindhoven were beaten 2-1 by Den Bosch in a Dutch Eerste Divisie clash at the Stadion De Vliert on Friday night.
The Nigeria-eligible youngster made a big impression on his full debut for Jong PSV, scoring a brilliant solo goal 34 minutes into the game to cancel out Steven Velkov's opener scored in the 24th minute.
Aged 17, the attacking midfielder was recently promoted to Jong PSV after starting the 2019-2020 campaign with the U19s, for whom he impressed with goals and assists in the past six months.
Prior to Madueke's promotion to Jong PSV, he was involved in an astonishing 23 goals (11 goals, 12 assists) in 28 matches for PSV U19 squad.
He has been invited to train with PSV's first team at their winter training camp in Qatar, ahead of the start of the second half of the season.
The left-footed midfielder turned down a scholarship deal from Tottenham Hotspur before joining PSV in the summer of 2018.
An England U18 international, Madueke represented the Young Lions at U15 and U16 level and became provisionally cap-tied to England when he started against Switzerland in a 2019 U17 EURO qualifier.
