Chelsea's Team Of The Decade Midfield Three : Former Nigeria Captain, 10 Others Nominated
In celebration of the decade, the official website of Chelsea has asked supporters to choose the club's Team of the Decade.

A 4-3-3 shape is the preferred formation and only players with fifty appearances or more for the Blues from January 2010 to December 2019 are eligible for selection.

Former Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel has been included on an 11-man shortlist along with current Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, N'Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, Ramires, Oscar, Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Michael Essien, Mateo Kovacic and Nemanja Matic.

The Super Eagles legend qualified to be nominated having made 372 appearances for the London club, scoring six goals.

Mikel's transfer to the Stamford Bridge outfit from Lyn Oslo was completed in the summer of 2006.

During his ten and half years with the club, he won the Champions League, Europa League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield.

The 32-year-old Mikel presently plays for Trabzonspor in Turkey after stops at Tianjin Teda and Middlesbrough.
