The Real Reason Super Eagles Star Skipped Bordeaux Training For Four Days
Published: December 31, 2019Samuel Kalu is now a major doubt for Bordeaux's first game of 2020 - a Coupe de France match against Le Mans at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique (Bordeaux) on Friday night.
For the fourth consecutive day, the Nigeria international did not participate in first team training on Tuesday, December 31.
It was earlier suggested that Kalu was absent from training because he was recovering from an undisclosed illness.
Shedding more light on the absence of the winger, regional newspaper Sud Ouest explained : "The treatment room begins to empty.
"If he is very ill , Samuel Kalu mainly has a passport problem which blocked him in Nigeria. Will he be back this week? "
Signed from KAA Gent in the summer of 2018, Kalu has been linked with a move away from Bordeaux in the January transfer window after losing his spot in the starting eleven.
Meanwhile, Josh Maja seems to have put his injury concerns behind him as he was seen in good spirits during today's workout, jumping on his teammates when they scored.
