Prolific Nigerian striker David Omilabu has made his competitive debut for Crystal Palace U23 side, allnigeriasoccer.com reports. 

The Eagles U23 boss named several exciting youngsters in the matchday squad against Queens Park Rangers U23s on Monday due to inclusion of up to five development squad players in the 18 that lost 1-0 to Derby County in the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday, January 5.

In the game staged at at Copers Cope, Omilabu came off the bench in the 81st minute, replacing Addy, for his competitive debut for Crystal Palace in the Professional Development League.

The 2002-born player penned a scholarship with the London team in July, a reward for his imperious displays for the U16 team over the course of the 2018-2019 campaign.

Last season, the free-scoring forward was involved in 64 goals (41 goals, 23 assists) across all competitions for the youth teams of Crystal Palace.

Another player of Nigerian descent, left-back Tayo Adaramola, who was a key member of the Crystal Palace U15 side that won the Premier League National Super Floodlit Cup last May, was an unused substitute against Queens Park Rangers U23s.
