Crystal Palace Targeting Move For Man City Defender Who Models Game After Kompany
Published: January 07, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Crystal Palace are targeting a move for Manchester City central defender Timi Sobowale.
It has come to light that the Republic of Ireland U19 international of Nigerian parentage featured as a trialist for the Eagles in their 4-2 win against Reading in the FA Youth Cup last month.
Sobowale showed his qualities in the third round match and was not at fault for the two goals conceded by Crystal Palace in their 4-2 win against the Royals.
The 2002-born player has been linked with a departure from Manchester City as he was permitted by the Premier League champions to train with Blackburn Rovers for two weeks last year.
Signed from Villa FC in the summer of 2018, Sobowale models his game after former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, he told the club's official website.
The 17-year-old has 19 games under his belt for the Citizens in the U18 Premier League.
His elder brother, Oluwatunmise trained with Crystal Palace in January 2019.
