Manchester United, Southampton Run The Rule Over Defenders Solanke, Odimayo
Published: January 08, 2020
According to reporting by Birmingham Mail, at least two Premier League clubs sent their scouts to watch Monday evening's Premier League 2 Division Two match between West Brom and Reading.
Manchester United and Southampton's talent spotters were present at the Aggborough Stadium (Kidderminster, Worcestershire).
The identities of the players the scouts were watching have not been revealed, but two players of Nigerian descent Tom Solanke and Akin Odimayo were on parade.
Odimayo is a 20-year-old center back on the books of Reading while West Brom's Solanke also plays in the same position.
Darrell Clarke, manager of League Two club Wallsall, and Torquay United boss Gary Johnson were present at the Stadium.
Odimayo made his first team debut for the Royals in a League Cup clash against Plymouth in August 2019, playing the whole ninety minutes in his maiden game as a professional.
The 18-year-old Tom Solanke, who is not related to former Chelsea and Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke, has caps for England's U15 and U16 National Teams.
