Leicester City Midfielder Ndidi To Go Under The Knife After Suffering Training Ground Injury
Published: January 08, 2020Wilfred Ndidi is set to go under the knife after suffering an injury in training, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers revealed ahead of tonight's Carabao Cup match against Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium.
With the exception of the trip to Sheffield United in August 2019, the Nigeria international has been involved in every single game played by the Foxes in the Premier League this season - 20 in total and logged 1, 730 minutes.
Ndidi is expected to miss at least four more matches against Southampton, Burnley, West Ham United and Brentford during his spell on the sidelines.
"Wilf took a knock in training yesterday, which unfortunately means he might need a slight operation tomorrow," Brendan Rodgers was quoted as saying by Leicester City's official Twitter account.
"That’ll put him out for a few weeks, but it’s not overly serious, so hopefully, going into February, he’ll be fit and ready to go again."
Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho starts on the bench vs Aston Villa following the return of the fit again Jamie Vardy to the starting line-up.
