Nigerian Defender Pictured Training With Arsenal First Team At Emirates Stadium Pre-Burnley
Published: January 29, 2020
Versatile Nigerian youngster Tolaji Bola continues to knock on the first team door at English Premier League side Arsenal, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The left back cum central defender is on the brink of making the matchday squad for the first time since September 24, 2019 when he was an unused substitute against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup, having trained with the first team on multiple occasions in the last few weeks.
Bola was pictured training with Arsenal first teamers at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday as they stepped up the preparations for their next Premier League match against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta has decided to continue running the rule over Bola as he cannot count on the services of Calum Chambers, Kieran Tierney and Sead KolaĊĦinac for the upcoming match against the Clarets and Shkodran Mustafi is rated as doubtful after suffering an ankle injury vs Bournemouth.
Meanwhile, Bukayo Saka, who was also involved in today's workout, has been nominated for Arsenal's Player of the Month for January 2020.
The 18-year-old winger is battling Lucas Torreira, Gabriel Martinelli and Granit Xhaka for the accolade.
