Anjorin Ready To Sign New Chelsea Contract On One Condition
Published: February 19, 2020
Chelsea's interest in precocious Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham has contrived to stall contract renewal talks between them and one of their most talented Academy graduates, Faustino Anjorin.
According to Goal's Chelsea correspondent, Nizaar Kinsella, the club's interest in the City starlet has had its own consequences, with Anjorin now mulling over a new five-and-a-half-year deal until 2025 which the Blues hierarchy are desperate to have him commit to.
Anjorin who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in less than 18 months time has earned his senior team debut earlier this season in a League Cup game against Grimsby Town but is wary of his chances of getting more first-team football with the introduction of more competition in the summer.
However, the 18-year-old is highly regarded at Chelsea and has reciprocated thus handsomely on the field of play so far this term, scoring 11 goals and laying on another six in 22 outings for the club's youth teams.
There are similarities in the playing styles of Bellingham and the Nigeria-eligible midfielder, who has drawn comparisons with Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

And in light of the ongoing transfer business at the club, it is understood Anjorin wants to be assured of the likelihood of more senior team football before signing on for such a lengthy deal, and could be forced to listen to offers in the summer otherwise.
