Aston Villa, Crystal Palace Looking At Nigerian Striker Likened To Romelu Lukaku
Published: February 21, 2020
Franco-Nigerian striker Daniel Akinleye is attracting interest from two English Premier League clubs, according to reports.
Africa Top Sports
says the Quevilly Rouen Métropole attacker is on the radar of French
Ligue 2 and Premier League teams, including Crystal Palace and Aston
Villa, following his outstanding performances this season.
The 13-year-old Akinleye has been likened to former Chelsea and Manchester United star now at Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku.
He features for Quevilly Rouen Métropole U14 team but has been repeatedly called up to their U15 squad this season.
Akinleye has been described as a formidable goal poacher with a powerful shot and has an exceptional speed for his size.
Talking about his goalscoring abilities alone is to do him a disservice as he has produced several assists for his teammates.
Crystal
Palace and Aston Villa have sent their talent spotters to France to
monitor Akinleye at close quarters with a view to a transfer in the
future.
With Britain officially leaving
the European Union at the end of last month, Akinleye cannot join an
English club until he is eighteen years.
