Promising Dutch-born Nigerian striker Dillon Hoogewerf has signed his first professional contract with Premier League giants Manchester United.
Hoogewerf has been rewarded with a new deal following his brilliant performances for United's youth teams since transferring to the club from Ajax Amsterdam last summer.
The 17-year-old took to Instagram to announce the new deal but has not disclosed the length of contract.
However, a FIFA rule states that players under the age of 18 may not sign a professional contract for a term longer than three years and any clause referring to a longer period shall not be recognised.
"Really happy to sign my first professional contract, can't wait to get back to the training ground and continue the hard work," said Hoogewerf.
Hoogewerf has featured for United's youth teams in the U18 Premier League, U18 Premier League Cup, FA Youth Cup and Premier League 2 this season.
He was nominated for Manchester United's Goal of the Month for February 2020 for his stunning strike against Leeds United in the FA Youth Cup.
