Babajide's Vs Arsenal Picked As Best Liverpool Women Goal Of The Season By Teammate
Published: April 11, 2020
Rinsola Babajide's strike against Arsenal in February has been picked as best Liverpool Women goal of the season so far by her teammate Rachel Furness.
In the 14th minute of the contest at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium, the England youth international of Nigerian parentage broke the deadlock as she raced onto a ball and slotted past goalkeeper Peyraud Magnin.
It was Babajide's first strike for Liverpool after twelve matches in this season's Women's Super League.
Quizzed on best LFC Women's goal of the season so far, Rachel Furness told Liverpool's official website : "This is a tough one because I’m not normally big headed but people were raving about my goal against Arsenal! That was a good one.
"Having only joined halfway through the season, it’s hard to tell. So I’ll say Rinsola’s against Arsenal.
"The kid deserved a goal and has been working so hard. So to see it eventually come was nice to see. It meant a lot to her and the team, so I’ll be nice and go for that one."
Babajide joined Liverpool in January 2018 after stops at Crystal Palace, Millwall Lionesses and Watford.
