'I Hope I'll Achieve It One Day' - Porto Loanee Awaziem Dreams Of Playing For Real Madrid
Published: April 13, 2020
Porto-owned central defender Chidozie Awaziem will be the subject of transfer speculation at the end of the season considering that his loan deal with CD Leganes will expire in June 2020.
Joining Leganes on a permanent deal is an option but it may not come to fruition as Los Pepineros are battling to stay afloat, with 23 points from 27 games, only three more than Espanyol, who are at the foot of the table.
Awaziem dreams of continuing his career in La Liga, with Real Madrid his preferred destination if he has his way.
"It's my dream to play in La Liga, to also play in Real Madrid. It's my dream and I am fighting to it and I pray and I hope I'll achieve it one day," said Awaziem to La Liga English Twitter account.
"I have always loved La Liga and I want to continue in La Liga."

The Nigeria international had kind words for the iconic Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos : "I like Sergio Ramos, I like his style of play, his attitude in the game, his fighting spirit, his leadership."
Awaziem has left the door open to remain at his parent club next season provided that he is assured of first team opportunities.
"Officially I'm a Porto player but it depends on what the future holds. If Porto have a future for me to stay in the club to represent them, for sure I'm going to stay there because I love the club also.
"But if they don't make a position for me to play there, it's better I continue in La Liga or look for a better club or continue in Leganes."

Leganes are Awaziem's third loan club in the past three seasons, having previously played for Nantes and Rizespor.
