Lengendary Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has termed himself lucky to have shared the same dressing room with Nwankwo Kanu, popularly known as Papilo, revealing also his favourite glovesman and the club he would have loved to play for.
Enyeama holds the honour of Nigeria's most capped player of all-time alongside Joseph Yobo, having represented the West African nation from 2002 before calling time with them in 2015.
In an interview with eaglestracker.com, the former Lille goaltender described himself lucky to have played with some of the greatest Super Eagles in history, but reserved some special respect for the Arsenal legend.
"Till he left the Super Eagles, I couldn't call him [Kanu] by name," Enyeama said.
"I just used to say senior man. The respect I had for him was too much."
On his favourite goalkeeper other than himself, the 37-year-old picked Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas saying :
"Casillas. Van Der Sar as well. I really looked up to him in terms of playing with my foot. But Casillas..I could fight you if you insult Casillas."
And when queried on which club he would have loved to turn out for in his prime, he went for Arsenal, stating..
"If I could play for any club? Arsenal. I've always loved Arsenal. I don't know.. maybe it's because Papilo played there."
