Taye Taiwo Urges Marseille To Sign Super Eagles Strikers Osimhen And Moses Simon
Published: April 21, 2020
Taye Taiwo has urged his former club Marseille to make a move for Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon in the summer transfer market.
The two Nigeria international strikers are having a successful season in their respective clubs, with Simon having a hand in 17 goals (9 goals, 8 assists) from 30 appearances while Osimhen has found the back of the net 18 times in 38 matches.
Nantes have the right of first refusal on the services of Simon as a purchase clause was inserted into the deal taking him to the Canaries in August 2019.
Speaking as a guest on Debate Foot Marseille, Taiwo said : "He (Simon) really is not bad! Frankly physically he is good. When you come from Nantes to play in Marseille it's another world.
"You have to have the mentality because it's different to play for Nantes or for Marseille. It would be nice if he came to play at OM. "
He added : "And there is also Lille striker Victor Osimhen, he would be good for Marseille, and for him to know the pressure. Marseille need lively players like that to play on the side".
Only two Nigerian players in John Utaka and Wilson Oruma played more games than Taye Taiwo in the French top-flight. The left-back spent six years at Marseille.
