Napoli Readying Nigerian Record Bid For Chelsea, Man Utd Linked Striker Osimhen; Agent Reacts
Published: April 23, 2020
Napoli are prepared to firm up their interest in Nigeria international Victor Osimhen by making an official bid to Lille.
Eurosport journalist Manu Lonjon has tweeted that Napoli are preparing an offer of 60 million euros for Osimhen.
If the Blues are able to convince Lille to part with the striker, it would break the transfer record for a Nigerian player by around 20 million euros following Everton's signing of Alex Iwobi from Arsenal in August 2019.
Napoli face serious competition for the services of Osimhen, with Manchester United and Chelsea among the Premier League clubs recently credited with an interest.
Asked to comment on reports linking his client with Napoli, Jean-Gérard Czajka Benoit told areanapoli.it : "The comment that I can make about is that Napoli is a great club.
"As for Victor's future, at the moment there are many more important and serious things to think about. And there is a season that is not over yet to be completed with his current team".
Spanish clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid also have Osimhen on their radar ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
